Via\u021ba \u0219i opera lui\u201d de Alexandru Vlahu\u021b\u0103, Bucure\u0219ti, 1910, pag. 234, cu titlul, \u201eSusana\u201d.<\/p>\n<p id=\"p-1\">Opera a participat la Expozi\u021bia Centenarul Pictorului Nicolae Grigorescu, 12-30 iunie 1938, Bucure\u0219ti, \u0219i este reprodus\u0103 \u00een catalogul expozi\u021biei la cat. 60, cu titlul \u201d\u021a\u0103r\u0103ncu\u021b\u0103\u201d.<\/p>\n<p id=\"p-2\">\u201e\u201eSubiectele na\u021bionale\u201d \u00eel preocup\u0103 pe Nicolae Grigorescu \u00eenc\u0103 din perioada form\u0103rii sale artistice, c\u00e2nd, \u00een timpul studiilor la Paris \u0219i al experien\u021bei decisive de la Barbizon, intr\u0103 \u00een contact direct cu tendin\u021bele picturii europene de secol XIX, orientate spre reprezentarea vie\u021bii simple \u0219i autentice. Revenit \u00een \u021bar\u0103 dup\u0103 1864 \u0219i 1867, artistul integreaz\u0103 aceste influen\u021be \u00een propria viziune, adapt\u00e2nd tematica realist\u0103 \u0219i liric\u0103 a \u0219colii de la Barbizon la specificul rom\u00e2nesc. Astfel, interesul pentru lumea rural\u0103 devine una dintre direc\u021biile definitorii ale crea\u021biei sale, iar portretul de \u021b\u0103ranc\u0103 cap\u0103t\u0103 statutul unui adev\u0103rat simbol al identit\u0103\u021bii na\u021bionale, \u00een care frumuse\u021bea simpl\u0103 a satului este transpus\u0103 artistic prin sensibilitate, observa\u021bie direct\u0103 \u0219i idealizare poetic\u0103. Acest interes pentru figura \u021b\u0103r\u0103ncii poate fi interpretat \u0219i ca o adaptare autohton\u0103 a tipologiei \u201d\u021b\u0103r\u0103ncii italiene\u201d, extrem de r\u0103sp\u00e2ndit\u0103 \u00een pictura european\u0103 a epocii, cultivat\u0103 de arti\u0219ti precum William Bouguereau, Jean-L\u00e9on G\u00e9r\u00f4me, Ernest H\u00e9bert, Camille Corot sau Mariano Fortuny i Marsal. \u00cen c\u0103utarea unor imagini emblematice pentru specificului na\u0163ional \u00een pictura rom\u00e2neasc\u0103, Nicolae Grigorescu prelucreaz\u0103 \u0219i adapteaz\u0103 aceast\u0103 tem\u0103 \u0219i o transpune \u00een fundalul rom\u00e2nesc, construind tipologii recognoscibile prin fizionomie, gesturi, atitudine \u0219i port. Astfel, artistul introduce echivalentul din lumea noastr\u0103 \u00eentr-o schem\u0103 compozi\u0163ional\u0103 deja consacrat\u0103. Prin acest transfer, Nicolae Grigorescu aliniaz\u0103 \u015fcoala rom\u00e2neasc\u0103 de pictur\u0103 la aria tematic\u0103 a picturii europene, conferind o dimensiune identitar\u0103 distinct\u0103, \u00een care \u021b\u0103ranul \u0219i, mai ales, \u021b\u0103ranca devin purt\u0103tori ai valorilor tradi\u021bionale. De\u0219i reluate tipologic, fiecare figur\u0103 aduce accente diferite prin fizionomia \u015fi psihologia personajului, alc\u0103tuind un catalog de tipuri \u0219i caractere umane \u2013 unele din vecin\u0103tatea \u0219i intimitatea artistului, altele ce urm\u0103resc asocierea oamenilor cu mediul social. Remarc\u0103m c\u0103 Nicolae Grigorescu este preocupat de redarea caracterului prin studiul fizionomiei, fiind convins \u2013 prin prisma form\u0103rii sale academice \u2013 c\u0103 \u00eenf\u0103\u021bi\u0219area subiectului reflect\u0103 caracteristici ale personalit\u0103\u0163ii. Astfel, artistul caut\u0103 s\u0103 transpun\u0103 pe p\u00e2nz\u0103 lumea interioar\u0103 a modelului, apel\u00e2nd, dincolo de realitatea vizibil\u0103 \u00een fa\u021ba \u0219evaletului s\u0103u, la imagina\u021bie \u00een \u00eencercarea de a eviden\u021bia prima impresie care \u00eei sugereaz\u0103 esen\u021bialul unui tip omenesc. Astfel, portretizarea s\u0103tenilor transcende simpla reprezentare etnografic\u0103 \u0219i devine un instrument de construc\u021bie simbolic\u0103 a imaginii na\u021bionale. \u021a\u0103r\u0103ncu\u021bele lui Nicolae Grigorescu reprezint\u0103 figuri arhetipale. Mereu surprinse \u00een posturi demne, vesele, luminoase, ele \u00eentruchipeaz\u0103 puritatea \u0219i permanen\u021ba lumii satului rom\u00e2nesc. Aceast\u0103 idealizare se reg\u0103se\u0219te \u0219i \u00een prezenta lucrare, at\u00e2t \u00een atitudinea calm\u0103 a subiectului, c\u00e2t \u0219i \u00een coloristicul cald \u0219i \u00een tratarea delicat\u0103 a luminii. Prezenta lucrare este reprodus\u0103 \u00een monografia dedicat\u0103 pictorului de Alexandru Vlahu\u021b\u0103 sub numele de \u201dSusana\u201d.
