Dup\u0103 tragedie, autorit\u0103\u021bile au decis suspendarea func\u021bion\u0103rii tuturor funicularelor istorice \u0219i a celebrului Elevador Santa Justa pentru verific\u0103ri de siguran\u021b\u0103. Un cablu de siguran\u021b\u0103 instalat \u00een 2022 nu ar fi fost potrivit pentru utilizare \u0219i nu fusese testat corespunz\u0103tor. De asemenea, au fost identificate defec\u021biuni la sistemul de fr\u00e2nare de urgen\u021b\u0103.
