In a post on Facebook, Sorin Grindeanu stated that Parliament, with the support of the PSD, has managed to adopt a series of legislative measures over the past two weeks that are necessary to meet the milestones Romania committed to under the PNRR.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have thus, over the past two weeks, resolved what the dismissed government was unable to resolve. We have kept our promises, while at the same time defending the interests of Romanians and of Romania,\u201d the Social Democratic leader said.<\/p>\n

Grindeanu listed several legislative proposals that he claims were adopted to prevent the loss of European funds.<\/p>\n

These include amendments to the Administrative Code, valued at 771 million euros; the Urban Planning Code, for which an allocation of 972 million euros is noted; the law on the decarbonization of heating and cooling systems (771 million euros), as well as the Integrity Law, associated with a tranche of approximately 770 million euros.<\/p>\n

The PSD leader also included on the list the Biodiversity Law, which he claims removes obstacles to the development of infrastructure and electricity production capacity; measures concerning Customs and the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), which introduce performance bonuses based on collection rates; as well as the law on the deinstitutionalization of people with disabilities, which regulates the granting of the so-called \u201ctransition benefit\u201d for adults leaving residential centers.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Grindeanu mentioned the approval of the loan agreement under the European SAFE program, worth 16.68 billion euros, intended for the modernization and equipping of the Romanian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

In the same post, the PSD leader argued that a potential referral to the Constitutional Court regarding the Integrity Law\u2014which he claims could be initiated by PNL or USR lawmakers\u2014would jeopardize access to the European funds associated with this milestone.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe intention of some members of the PNL or USR to file a complaint with the Constitutional Court, which is currently in judicial recess, will, however, result in the loss of funds,\u201d stated Sorin Grindeanu, without providing further details.<\/p>\n

Sorin Grindeanu also stated that Social Democratic lawmakers will continue to attend parliamentary sessions whenever necessary to ensure that Romania does not lose European funds.<\/p>\n

At the same time, he noted that the PSD expects the dismissed government to submit the draft salary law to Parliament, adding that the party will support legislation that, in his view, \u201crespects employees in the healthcare and education systems.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
