George Simion’s dangerous message: those who committed the coup should be skinned

Simion calls the BEC decision a „coup d’état” and says that those who „committed it,” i.e. the BEC members „should be flayed in the public square.”
Simion posted a video message on Facebook, stating that „there is nothing wrong with Călin Georgescu’s candidacy file.”
„The file is as in order as can be, with all your signatures. The people from the Central Electoral Office can confirm that. They did not vote based on evidence; they voted according to their conscience, including the judges. They did not rule that the entire file was complete. They ruled, and they had received orders from whoever they received them from, to reject his candidacy. Let no one be happy to announce me or other candidates. What needs to be done next is to look at Călin Georgescu to see what he says. He is the man voted by Romanians,” said George Simion.
He also mentioned that he doesn’t have a problem with the protesters and apologized for not being with Călin Georgescu’s supporters at the protest in front of the BEC, stating that he comes from Cluj.
„This is a coup. We live in a dictatorship. We cannot accept this. I am on my way from Cluj right now. (…) I can’t take any more, those who committed the coup should be flayed in the public square for what they did. To mess with democracy like that. Do you dislike or like Călin Georgescu? He is the man voted by Romanians,” the AUR president said in the Facebook video message.
Simion concluded by saying that we have to wait to see what Călin Georgescu will say on Monday.
Călin Georgescu’s candidacy was rejected on Sunday by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC).
Georgescu has 24 hours to contest the BEC decision.
There are 14 BEC members, including 5 judges, 2 members of the Permanent Electoral Authority, and 7 from the PSD, PNL, UDMR, USR, AUR, POT, and SOS parties. Ten members voted in favor of rejecting the candidacy, while four members voted in favor of allowing Georgescu to run. These were the votes from AUR, POT, PNL, and USR.
