New drone fragments discovered in Costineşti. Obelisk area secured by authorities

The prefect of Constanţa County, Adrian-Teodor Picoiu, stated that the fragment discovered on Friday could come from the drone identified the day before in the same resort. „It is a piece, possibly detached from the one from yesterday,” the prefect specified, according to information published by FocusPress.

SRI pyrotechnicians checked the fragment

According to the authorities, the Constanţa IPJ, the County Gendarmerie Inspectorate and the Constanţa ISU secured a perimeter of approximately 100 square meters in the area where the object was found. The fragment was checked by SRI pyrotechnicians. The prefect specified that it did not contain pyrotechnic material, so the area was to be reopened after the intervention was completed. Subsequently, the Coast Guard was to pick up the fragment, and the case will be investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Constanţa Court of Appeal.

Another drone was discovered on Thursday in Costineşti

The new alert comes less than 24 hours after the authorities intervened for another drone fragment found near the beach in Costineşti. On Thursday, August 13, the MApN was informed about the presence of an aerial drone fragment in the Terasa Tineretului area, approximately 15 meters from the stabilopods. The object had been spotted in the water by people on the coast, and authorities restricted access to the area. The Coast Guard requested the support of the Romanian Naval Forces, and a team of EOD combat divers checked the fragment. The Ministry of National Defense reported that it did not present a pyrotechnic risk and was handed over to the Coast Guard. The case was taken over by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Constanta Court of Appeal.
