Serious accusation: Romanian cereals no longer have a place in silos because of Ukrainian ones
The message was sent on Facebook.
„I was informed that Romanian cereal production no longer has a place in silos because railway operators prioritize the transport of cereals from Ukraine. Thus, the financial flows of Romanian farmers are blocked, they unjustly accumulate debts to banks or suppliers,” wrote the former minister from the PSD.
He criticized the situation and compared it to the one in which a farmer does not take care of his dairy cow.
„Official statistics have shown that, at least in the last 10 years, two areas of activity have borne the brunt of the state budget revenues and created added value in the Romanian economy. I am referring here to transport infrastructure and agriculture. Even if our elders taught us to take care of the cow that gives us milk, these days, that is precisely what we do not do,” added Şerban.
The former minister called for the intervention of the Romanian state.
„I request the emergency intervention of the Romanian state in this issue and draw attention to the fact that the destabilization of this extremely important sector can create extremely serious consequences! If private railway operators can run their business as they wish, state-owned companies should not forget about the subsidies they receive from the state budget, that is, from the taxes and duties paid by, or especially, by Romanian farmers, and I am referring here primarily to Carpatica SA,” specified Ciprian Şerban.
